Implement it right ✅
You’ve decided on a great platform.
To maximise the benefit to your business and maintain support from your employees, ensure you implement it right.
If you work in a business or an agency, you know that finding a PSA (professional services automation) or work management platform which ticks all business needs and which is user-friendly is (shockingly) hard to come by.
As someone that’s used, considered and assessed a range of platforms, Scoro is leagues ahead of the competition. Plus their support teams are friendly and helpful, and the product has serious momentum (and funding)!
However, implementing a PSA platform is a lot of work prior to launch. 🥵 When introducing a business-critical platform that’s going to bring a lot of change, it’s critical to not launch something half-baked. That’s where I can help.
But first – check out my case study on the Scoro website.
What Scoro’s onboarding teams do provide ✅
Understand your business needs and workflows, and advise on how your projects will move through the system + help configure the platform for your needs.
Advice on how your quote templates and products/services can be loaded in the system.
A basic PDF handbook with terminology, high level workflows, and high level instructions for your teams.
A training session (Zoom) for your teams.
What Scoro’s onboarding teams don’t provide 🚫
In short: they provide advice, frameworks and regular meetings, but they don’t provide the hands-on, ongoing, in-house project management work (plus workshops, organisation, and data prep) to get you ready for launch.
Examples of what they don’t offer:
Support in ironing out your workflows (they will set up Scoro to align with your existing workflows, but not tell you whether your processes could be streamlined to begin with).
Workshops with your internal teams to streamline how you want to improve your products and services catalogue and pricing before setting it up in Scoro.
Workshops with your internal teams to streamline your quote templates before loading them into the system.
Support in assessing which data from your existing platforms you want to / should migrate to Scoro.
Migrating your data into Scoro.
Testing your workflows based on your knowledge of your business to ensure everything works.
Creating a library of bite-sized training videos for your teams’ reference.
Should you be ‘agile’ and just launch and improve?
People are busy, and they’re resistant to change; therefore when you introduce a major new platform for your business, it’s essential that it’s thoroughly tested to be fit-for-purpose for your business.
Never launch something half-baked. Once you lose your team’s trust, you won’t get them back.
This includes ensuring that you’ve:
Mapped out and optimised your workflows (moving to a new PSA platform is the best opportunity to do this).
Tested those processes in Scoro and worked out all the kinks and the majority of scenarios.
Decided which data you’re importing – and what you’re not importing and why.
Imported and tested your data.
Decided how long you will be maintaining two systems (Scoro and your previous platform).
Planned your internal communications (this is critical – and requires a multi-channel, multi-stakeholder strategy communicating why you’re introducing change, and what’s in it for the team).
Planned your training and support resources (i.e. an in-house knowledge base on best-practice, so you’re not. bombarded with questions and so your team isn’t relying on word-of-mouth / memory on how to do things).
Can you do it alone?
Absolutely! If you’ve got a considerable amount of time and resource available in-house, you can allocate project leads to take on the tasks above.
If you don’t have the time or expertise, then you should get help.
